Linda Alice Salmi
(Celebration of Life details below)
Linda Alice Salmi, Age 68, of Cloquet Minnesota, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on June 25, 2020 in Mission Texas. Linda was born in Cloquet Minnesota to Helen (Larson) and John Hammitt, April 26, 1952.
Linda was friendly, very outgoing, and could talk to anyone. Her laugh was contagious and could easily be heard from the other end of a department store! She had a love of travel, especially cruises. She was known to have a beautiful singing voice, and the most picture perfect penmanship (though daughter Angela has been known to easily forge her perfect cursive signature). She loved to play cards with her family and friends and had a propensity for cheating… whether intentional or not.
Linda and her husband Roger could tear up the floor. When they would waltz, time would stop and they would unassumedly attract the spotlight. Their synchronous footwork was something to be marveled. To this day, her children envy and covet their parent's ability.
Linda would fully embrace each and every new hobby and interest with all of her soul, even if for only 5 minutes. Some of those hobbies included stained glass, scrapbooking, and crocheting. She was a great cook, loved getting manicures and pedicures, loved to shop and always had a Coca-Cola in hand.
“Is it hot in here or who’s home!” Is just one of the many “Lindaisms” that she would leave her listeners to decipher.
She attended Palm Valley Church in Mission Texas and participated in Bible Study Fellowship.
The most important moment in Linda’s life was in March of 1988 when she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Her decision was the catalyst that allowed at least 20 others to come to know Christ as well.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents John and Helen, Sister Cora, Brother John, and Sister Jeanette.
She is survived by her Husband Roger of 43 years, sisters Judy (Skip) Wilton, Jean Iverson and Dorothy Kemi, daughters Angela (Chad Feigum) Maki, Melissa (Brian) Otterstrom, Nicole (David) Goodin, and Stephanie (Paul Torguson) Salmi, Son Benjamin (Crystal) Salmi, Grandchildren: Corey, Mitchell, Taylor, Kylie, Logan, Dain, Joshua, Emma, Bella, and Emmalyn.
Plans for a Celebration of Life service are confirmed for 11am August 1st at Journey Christian Church, in Cloquet Minnesota. The visitation will begin at 10am. For confirmation of details and updates please go to www.fgcgr.org/lindasalmi
